Import from Gemini
Turn your Google Takeout Gemini activity into an estimated footprint.
Gemini usage arrives via Google Takeout — a little clunkier, still doable in five minutes.
Get your export
- Go to takeout.google.com and deselect all, then check My Activity — not the product named "Gemini" (that one is your Gems settings and contains no conversations).
- In the My Activity row, click Multiple formats and set Activity records to JSON.
- Click All activity data included and check only Gemini Apps.
- Create the export, download the ZIP, then go to centrail.org/greenai/import, pick Gemini, and drop it in. (The import page shows screenshots of each step.)
What happens to the file
The ZIP is read in your browser. We open only MyActivity.json — image and
video attachments in the ZIP are never read or uploaded. Newer Takeouts include
Gemini's responses, which we count exactly; older ones record prompts only, so
those responses are priced with a documented average-length assumption. Images
you attached to prompts count a flat 258 tokens each — see the
methodology. Only daily totals are saved to your account.
Heads up
Takeout's format varies; if we can't read yours, the import page will say so —
email support@centrail.org and we'll add it.
HTML-format Takeouts aren't supported: pick JSON when creating the export.
